  Day 1: Old Town, Imperial History, and Rock Classics Morning: Triumphal Arch & Maria-Theresien-Straße Start your morning walking down the famous pedestrian boulevard, Maria-Theresien-Straße . Check out the Triumphal Arch (Triumphpforte) at the southern end. Continue north past the Annasäule (St. Anna's Column) in Town Hall Plaza.   Midday: The Golden Roof & Old Town (Altstadt) Arrive at the iconic Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof) , which features 2,657 fire-gilded copper tiles. Climb the Stadtturm (City Tower) for a sweeping view of the medieval rooftops and the surrounding mountains. Wander past the colorful Helbling House with its striking Rococo stucco facade.   Lunch & Afternoon: Imperial Palaces Step inside the Hofburg Imperial Palace to see the Giants' Hall.
